Hurricane Florence Relief Effort
​
Special thanks to everyone who helped make our Hurricane Relief Effort a huge success. Donations exceeded our goal and we were able to help many families in need. We were greeted with hugs and many thanks from the hurricane victims in Greenville, NC.
The IRS warned taxpayers to remain vigilant to
​
scams as they continue to be reported around the country. Phishing, phone scams and identity theft top the list of items normally reported.
The IRS does not initiate contact with taxpayers by email to request personal or financial information; this includes text messages and social media channels.
The IRS does not call and leave prerecorded, urgent messages asking for a call back. In this tactic, the victim is told if they do not call back, a warrant will be issued for their arrest.
